Toyota Agya to be sold as Wigo in PH market

Toyota Motor Philippines teased us with an image of the Toyota Wigo on its official Facebook Page with the caption "Get ready to live the easy life. Soon." Another image with the caption "Roadtrip sa weekend? Easy na yan!" was posted a few days ago.

The Toyota Wigo is the local counterpart of the Toyota Agya from Indonesia. It is based on the Toyota Agyo which shares its underpinnings with the Daihatsu Ayla which was revealed in the 2012 Indonesian Motor Show.

The Wigo will compete with the likes of the Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. 

No official details have been released by TMP but in Indonesia, it is powered by a 1.0L three cylinder engine with 65 HP and 88 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

The car is due for release next month.
